A brochure making activity was conducted in class VI, IX and X to celebrate the World Tourism Day. The students participated enthusiastically and prepared beautiful brochures for the same.

This activity gave an insight about the various tourist attractions within and beyond the country. Moreover, it broadened the horizon of the students.

Students of class Xth were given the chance to work together and gain knowledge through interaction and research about SAARC nations. Each class prepared a project about one country and displayed it in an exhibition. The students were briefed  about  the meaning and aim of SAARC nations and were asked various questions about the specific country they had chosen. Through this group activity children gained knowledge about the working  co ordination and strenghth of the SAARC nations.


HUMAN RIGHTS DAY AND ANTI CORRUPTION

4th February 2014

The students of class IX A had put up an excellent show in their assembly on 4th February, 2014. The assembly started with Saraswati Vandana. It was followed by a heart rendering speech on Human Rights.
A sarcastic poem on politics acted as an introductory prelude of the skit. The skit was like a gateway to politics and it beautifully revealed the twists and turns that politics is taking in the present scenario.

                                       SHIMLA TRIP

                              HERITAGE  TOY  TRAIN

As we all know Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh.
The school organised a wonderful trip to Shimla during the summer holidays for classes 4th to 7th.
It is the most beautiful hill station that we had ever seen.
It had many beautiful sights to see and beautiful places to visit.
we were all excited for this trip and were on the seventh 
sky when the bus started. Our first stop was MULTAN HAVELI . 
we all took rest for one hour there and again we started 
towards the hill. the circular roads took us upwards, one side was 
covered with long mountains and another with deep valleys.
We saw very beautiful houses situated between the hills.
After two hours we reached Shimla.We stayed at KOTHI RESORT
situated at the top of the hill near Kufri. In the evening we went to KUFRI.
and enjoyed at the zoo, next day after having breakfast we went to NALDERAH.  
There was a huge golf course and many many adventurous sport.
We also went to the historical CHRIST CHURCH and to lakhara bazar,ridge road . This experience was most memorable and enjoyable.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

As a record, Hansraj Model School is a school which not only focuses on academics and sports but also on heritage, values, music and dance. On the occasion of Republic Day 2014, we celebrated India's 64th year of being republic by a mega extent-Indradhanush.

On this occasion, the school was beautifully decorated. The chief guest was Mr. Girish Soni, a member of Aam Aadmi Party. At first, Madam Principal and the Chief guest were escorted by NCC Cadets and flag was hoisted. Joyful melodies of patriotic songs created soulful symphonies. Also, students of various classes performed cultural dances, folk songs and gave educational speeches. From toddlers to grown ups, everybody enjoyed the event whole heartedly. All present indulged in the proud feeling of patriotism and it became a mega event.

Madam Principal greeted us and also told us some interesting facts about India. It was an unforgettable experience which taught us a lot of things about our country and our respect for it became higher. At the end, tri-color balloons were flown in air and the event came to an end with National Anthem.

The Parliament of India, also popularly known as Sansad (Sanskrit: संसद); is the supreme legislative body in India. The Parliament comprises the President of India and the two Houses—Lok Sabha (House of the People) and Rajya Sabha (Council of States). The President has the power to summon and prorogue either House of Parliament or to dissolve Lok Sabha.

The parliament is one of the most magnificent buildings in New Delhi. It was designed by Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker, who were responsible for planning and construction of New Delhi. The construction of buildings took six years and the opening ceremony was performed on 18 January 1927 by the then Governor-General of IndiaLord Irwin. The construction costs for the building were Rs. 8.3 million. The parliament is 570 feet (170 meters) in diameter. It covers an area of nearly six acres. The building has twelve gates among which Gate No. 1 on the Sansad Marg is the main gate.

Parliament museum is a museum in the Parliament of India Library Building in New Delhi, close to the Sansad Bhavan.It was inaugurated by then Speaker of Lok Sabha on 29 December 1989, in Parliament House Annexe, subsequently it shifted to its present in a Special Hall of the Sansadiya Gyanpeeth, Parliament Library Building, where it was inaugurated on 7 May 2002 by President of India, K. R. Narayanan. The interactive museum was inaugurated by President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on Aug 15 2006.It is an interactive museum which tells us the story of freedom struggle of India.It also has rare collection of gifts from foreign delegates to The Speaker of Lok Sabha.



A group of  students of class VIIIth and IXth visited on 25th October,2013 along with social science teachers. The students  saw the Lok sabha and Rajya sabha hall.They learnt many new facts about the Parliament house .They also went to the Parliament museum where they learnt more about our country in an interactive way.

Walk at the RAJPATH

Rajpath  meaning "King's Way"is the ceremonial boulevard in New Delhi,Republic of India that runs from Rashtrapati Bhavan on Raisina Hill through Vijay Chowk and India Gate to National Stadium, Delhi. The avenue is lined on both sides by huge lawns, canals and rows of trees. Considered to be one of the most important roads in India, the annual Republic Day parade takes place here on 26 January. Janpath crosses the road. Rajpath runs in east-west direction. Roads from Connaught Place, the financial centre of Delhi, run into Rajpath from north.


The students of class 8th and 9th explored the Raisina Hill. The walk gave them the opportunity to learn new facts about Rashtrapati Bhawan and India Gate.
