Heritage walk to Shish Mahal

The students of class V and VI went for a heritage walk to Shish Mahal. They carried placards to create awareness about the monuments and the need to preserve and maintain them for future generations.

                Filmit India -  FILM FESTIVAL   2015 -2016   

Filmit is a multicultural project that aims at nurturing cultural understanding ,care and concern amongst school children through the exciting experience of making and sharing films.

The students of Hansraj Model School prepared some very creative films and their efforts were appreciated by INTACH.
‘Agrasen ki Baoli ’ a  film made by the  children of Sampada Club, had been selected by the Children’s Film  Society  of  India to be screened at the International  Children’s Film Festival in Hyderabad in November 2015.

The film “the starting point of Mehrauli ”prepared by Ishaan Gupta, Dhruv Bhatia, Panshul Bhat, Aahan Bhargav of class IX was selected for Best original story.

The film “the handloom of Madhya Pradesh” was selected as Best Informative film made by Srishti Grover and Navya Bhayana of class IX.

2015 Theme: Archives at Risk

Audiovisual documents, such as films, radio and television programmes, are our common heritage and contain the primary records of the 20th and 21st centuries.
 They help to maintain the cultural identity of a people; but countless documentary treasures have disappeared since the invention of image and sound technologies that permit the peoples of the world to better share their experiences, creativity and knowledge. 

All of the world's audiovisual heritage is endangered. So to spread awareness for preserving the audio visual heritage the students of classes 9,10 and 11  took initiative and made posters of films of the era gone by. Students of classes 6, 7 and 8 participated in activities like "In our times" and screening of snap shots from old movies by famous directors like Satyajit Ray, Bimal Roy was also done.

Globe Trotting

Brochure making activity was conducted for students of class 9 and 10 where they made brochures on monuments of Avukana Buddha Statue and Independence Square in Sri Lanka as part of a collabrative activity with  Royal Collage in Srilanka. The activity was to sensitize students for a global prospective. It would inculcate the habit of learning and experiencing  the culture and history of other countries. .A quiz was also conducted to reinforce what they learnt from the activity.

Celebrating Heritage Week!

Students of Sampada club celebrated heritage week. They engaged themselves in numerous activities - creative rangoli of historical monuments ,sensitizing the students through street plays, conducting quiz, singing songs  to spread awareness for preservation and conservation of monuments.

Tamil Nadu Fair

Students of Sampada Club went to the ‘Tamil Nadu Fair’ 
on 6 november 2015. They explored the fair and appreciated
the art and culture of Tamil Nadu. 

Heritage walk to Feroz Shah Kotla

A trip was organised to Feroz Shah Kotla -students of classes VIII to XI explored  the historical monument.   Facts were shared. Student were fascinated with the Ashoka Pillar, Baoli and were captivated by the stories of spirits......

AWARENESS PROGRAM
 SHISH MAHAL 

     29th July 2015

The students of Sampada club organised an awareness programme to sensitize the public about the conservation and preservation of Shish Mahal and other monuments in India. Principal Madam Heemal.H.Bhat along with the members of sampada club took a heritage walk around the shish mahal and interacted with the public  gathered  from Haider village. Children presented nukkad natak , songs and told many facts about monuments. They also spoke about the urgency to protect the monuments and keep them clean.  

           

                            
22 April - EARTH  DAY 2015

The students of class XI and X  organised interactive sessions with junior classes( IV,V,VI)  to spread  awareness about the earth day. They took up various activities like storytelling,     slogan writing and making them do some interesting worksheets. Some  short movies were also shown to children  and brain storming was done. Some classes were taken for nature walk where children identified different trees and talked about them.

WALK AT RASHTRAPATI BHAWAN 13.02.15

‘SAMPADA ’ the Heritage  Club of our school organized a heritage walk to the Rashtrapati Bhawan with the students of class IX and X. The students got an insight to the magnificent view to the Presidents estate and the mughal garden. It was a most memorable trip for the students.

AWARENESS PROGRAMME

‘SAMPADA ’ the Heritage  Club of our school organized an interactive session with the students of class VI. The students of class X became ‘Peer Guides’ and made them aware about various projects undertaken by the Heritage Club. We introduced them with the next session of ‘ADOPTION OF TREE’and 'ADOPTION OF MONUMENT' initiative. It was really a wonderful experience where we learnt, discussed and questioned many knowledgeable   things.

                                                 

VISIT TO LIVE SESSION OF RAJYA SABHA ,PARLIAMENT HOUSE

              
 The students of Heritage club saw the live session of Rajya Sabha . When we reached the Parliament House we passed many security checks to reach the gallery of Rajya Sabha. As the clock struck 11:00, Mr Hamid Ansari, honourable chairman of Rajya Sabha arrived to commence the session . The Zero Hour began with, opposition demanding an apology for the derogatory statement of an MP,and they also demanded the statement of PM on religion conversion issue. Later  Ms Sushma  Swaraj and Parliamentary Affairs Minister , Mr Venkaiah Naidu arrived in the house which we considered  a an event of blowing conch shell  for the arrival of Prime Minister. After few minutes ,the house was filled with excitement and a sense of dignity , when the Prime Minister , Mr Narendra Modi entered the Rajya Sabha. We were all on the cloud nine as soon as we got the glimpse of our Prime Minister. 

                                             

                         ACTIVITY ON GIRL CHILD

The Noble Laureate Amartya Sen once stated that with the present one billion population of India, the country has to account for approximately 25 million missing women. This statement clearly depicts the helpless state of girl child. So we have to undertake certain activities to remove evil practices and customs because actions speak louder than words. Only then we can expect a bright future for girls and Beti Bachao Campaign started by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be a grand success.
The heritage club Sampada promotes the welfare of girl child and has undertaken many activities to spread awareness on this issue.

DISPLAY BOARD DECORATION 

 The students of class IX depicted 'Unity In Diversity' of Indian states through decoration of their display boards in account of HERITAGE WEEK celebration.This activity created a sense of  nationalism and helped them to explore the beauty of Indian Heritage.The display boards of each class gave a glimpse of  culture, tradition, cuisines and lifestyles of various Indian States.The enthusiasm and passion among students was remarkable.

STAMP MAKING ACTIVITY

During the HERITAGE WEEK celebration , a STAMP MAKING ACTIVITY was organised for students of class X . A day before the activity,discussions were held regarding the importance of  'Postage Stamps'. Students gained knowledge about the history of postage stamps and  how they have facilitated the delivery of mail since the 1840s.It was a very interesting activity on the topic- "INCREDIBLE INDIA- अतुल्य भारत " ,. Students enjoyed displaying their creativity through their self made stamps.

EXPLORING THE PAST - SHEESH MAHAL

It was really an amazing trip when the students of class 8th,9th and 10th visited Sheesh Mahal, an abandoned structure which had witnessed the coronation of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. We were astonished to see such an important place in ruins. Our school is privileged to have adopted Sheesh Mahal. We are also very thankful to ASI for their support and valuable guidance. Children are pledged to conserve the heritage and spread awareness.

Sampada has been awarded as the second runner up for the Best Heritage club 2013-14 by INTACH for contributing and sensitizing the students.

SCHOOL TRIPS ARE FUN

The school organized a trip to Agra for the members of SAMPADA. It is the bouquet of mughal architecture. We departed Delhi at 5 in the morning through Volvo Bus and then reached Agra via Yamuna Expressway. We stopped there for a little rest & then jumped into the buses. The students were overloaded with excitement. Our first stop was The TAJ MAHAL which is also known as the symbol of love built by Shah Jahan in the memory of his loving wife. We came to know about many interesting facts about the monument and also visited the mausoleum. After that we had our lunch and departed for Fatehpur Sikri- a photographer’s delight. The Salty sun kissed air did not bother the students as the excitement took it all over. The place was full of palaces and we also visited the dargah of Salim Chisti- the great Sufi saint. After that we headed back to Delhi followed by a little meal at Yamuna Expressway. This was a memorable experience which everyone is going to cherish in their lives.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS

On 22^nd April’2014, Earth day was celebrated by the members of SAMPADA. They became the Eco-Ambassadors by wearing self painted t-shirts. Members of the heritage club painted mother earth & the need to spread awareness regarding her conservation. These T-shirts were worn by them the entire day and were highly appreciated by everyone.
